  Important Roles of Educational Technology
  in
 Education
In the current age we live in, technology has become an important component. Every day there is some new gadget or software that makes lives easier and improves on the technology and software that already exists. Making lives easier is not, however, the only role technology plays in our lives.Technology is playing an increasing role in education. As technology advances, it is used to benefit students of all ages in the learning process.
Technology used in the classroom helps students adsorb the material. For example, since some people are visual learners, projection screens linked to computers can allow students to see their notes instead of simply listening to a teacher deliver a lecture.
Software can be used to supplement class curriculum. The programs provide study questions, activities, and even tests and quizzes for a class that can help students continue learning outside the classroom.
Technology has also become part of many curriculums, even outside of computer and technology classes. Students use computers to create presentations and use the Internet to research topics for papers and essays.
Students also learn to use the technology available to them in computer and tech classes. This ensures that after graduation they will be able to use the technology in a work setting, which may put them ahead of someone who didn't have access to a particular technology or software in their own school setting.
As technology advances, students have better access to educational opportunities like these. When something new and "better" is revealed, the "older" technology becomes more affordable, allowing it to be used in educational settings, even when schools are on a tight budget.
Technology has also advanced to help children even before they've started school. Educational video games and systems for young children helps them prepare for school and in some cases get a head start on their education.

Do you know the Differences of the Following Words .?
a.Educational Technology
b.Instructional Technology
c.Technology in Education
d.Instructional Media
e.Educational Media
If not i will give you some information and idea regarding to it .

Educational Technology  is the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using and managing appropriate technological processes and resources. So it is not just the integration of technology in education it also needs sufficient time and efforts to  have a clear understanding about this topic.

Instructional Technology is "the theory and practice of design, development, utilization, management, and evaluation of processes and resources for learning. It is often referred as a part of Educational technology. But nowadays Instructional Technology gained  its own meaning to clearly understand the difference of it in Educational Technology.
Technology in Education is the integration of different technologies that helps individual to strengthen their understanding in specific subject.
Instructional media encompasses all the materials and physical means an instructor might use to implement instruction and facilitate students' achievement of instructional objectives. This may include traditional materials such as chalkboards, handouts, charts, slides, overheads, real objects, and videotape or film, as well newer materials and methods such as computers, DVDs, CD-ROMs, the Internet, and interactive video conferencing.
Educational Media  seems to be the tools to be used by the teachers in achieving their daily goal in Learning Environment. It doesn't focus only on the technology but also on  the abilities  in manipulating technologies whether in physical and intellectul.
So that is the meaning of that following words and their difference.

Educational Technology is very Important nowadays . As the years fast the competencies of the students also increase with this subject, future educators gained relevant information in what is the newest technology that they can use.

Edgar Dales "The Cone of Experience"

The core of experience developed by Edgar Dale asserts that the pattern of arrangement of the bands of experience is not difficulty but degree of abstraction - the amount of immediate sensory participation that is involved.

1. Direct purposeful experience - these are firsthand experience which serve as the foundation of our learning. We build our reservoir of meaningful information and ideas through seeing, hearing, touching, tasting and smelling. In the context of teaching-learning process, it is learning by doing.

Example:
In Elementary students , teachers first teach the basic 4 Macro skills  in their students, writing, reading and speaking becomes their foundation of learning in moving tothe next steps.

2. Contrived experience - make use of representative models or mock-ups of reality for practical reasons and so that we can make the real-life accessible to the students' participation and understanding.

Example:
In Science the use of realia or model in teaching parts of the body  helps the student easy understand and know the different parts of the body .

3. Dramatized experience - a student can participate in reconstructed experiences even though the original event is far removed

Example:
Allowing the students participate in activities like Role Playing, Drama or other physical Activities

4. Demonstrations - is a visualized explanation of important fact, idea or process by use of photographs, drawings, films, displays or guided motions.

Example:
 Film Showing .

 5. Study trips - these are excursions and visits conducted to observe an event that is available within the classroom.

Example:
Taking the students indifferent educational place like museum, planetarium, zoo and Historical places.

6. Exhibits - these are displays to be seen by spectators. They may consist of working models arranged meaningfully or photographs with models, charts and posters.

Example:
Art Gallery allow your students to unleashed their creativity in their own by creating arts like panting and others artistic things.

7. Television and motion pictures - these can reconstruct the reality of the past so effectively that we are made to feel we are there.

Example:
Making the students watch a film then instructing them to make a reaction or reflection about the story.

8. Still pictures, recordings, radio - these are visual and auditory devices maybe used by an individual or group.

Example:

Allow students to listen in radio and ask them to prepare reaction paper.

9. Visual symbols - these are no longer realistic reproduction of physical things for these are highly abstract representations.

Example:
Charts which represent an image of the different kinds of transportation, occupation, parts of the body and etc.
Graphs that show representation of progress, quantity, etc.

10. Verbal symbols - they are not the objects or ideas to which they stand. They usually do not contain visual clues to their meaning. Written words fall under this category. It may be a word for a concrete object (book), and idea (freedom of speech), a scientific principle (the principle of balance), or a formula (e=mc2).
Examples
The use of books and other  Instructional Material.
  My Reflection
As of now  I already learned the Importance of well prepared Instructional Material in motivating the students. I also learned that it is not easy to prepare relevant materials. Different types of Instructional materials have their own different purpose. I also learned the PPPF which is very important. P- PREPARE YOUR SELF. P-PREPARE YOUR STUDENTS. P- PRESENT YOUR MATERIALS and F-  FOLLOW-UP . This following information help me to be more curious  not only on how will i present my self but also on how can i make my learning more on acquiring not on memorizing.
"The Cone of Experience" this is a very good information that i also learned now i can easily understand on how will i deal with my future student if i become a teacher.
The PBML. Project-based Multimedia Learning i also learned how to prepare this types of Lesson that is PBML.
